Glenavon 2-1 Crusaders
The Co-operative Insurance Cup - Tuesday, 28th October, 2008
GLENAVON hold a slender lead going into the second leg in a fortnight's time thanks to a 79th minute Paul Carville winner at Mourneview Park.

The defender fired a low shot beyond Crues 'keeper Stephen McKay after a Ryan Harpur free-kick was blocked by the wall.

But it was the visitors who got off to the better start when, after just seven minutes, Eamon McAllister fired them in front with a 20-yard drive which sailed past the unsighted Tuda Murphy.

The Lurgan Blues levelled on 61 minutes courtesy of a David Larmour spot-kick awarded for a foul on Adrian Harper.

And they were given a further boost 12 minutes later when new Crues signing Jamie Marks was sent-off on his debut for leading with his elbow on Harper.
