Glentoran 3-3 Lisburn Distillery
JJB Sports Premiership - Saturday, 18th April, 2009
GLENTORAN are still top of the JJB Sports Premiership after this high scoring draw with Lisburn Distillery but they were forced to come from behind twice to scrape a point.

Kyle Neill handed the title hopefuls an early advantage when, after three minutes, he slotted home a spot-kick after Johnny Taylor had been brought down in the area.

However the Whites levelled on 14 minutes when, from 22 yards out, Gary Muir delivered a free-kick over the wall and past Philip Matthews.

And the Glens were stunned on 26 minutes when Curtis Allen edged the visitors into the lead when, with the home defence all over the place, he pounced to knock home his 24th goal of the season.

Michael Halliday then produced a stunning save from Matthews on 33 minutes with a close range effort as the Glens attempted to fight their way back into the game.

They duly equalised eight minutes into the second half when, following a cross from the left, Neill got the final touch amongst a goalmouth scramble to turn the ball in off an upright.

But the game took another twist on 56 minutes when Allen restored the visitors lead with a free-kick from some 25 yards out on the left which caught Elliott Morris unawares at the near post.

Amazingly, the Glens levelled yet again on 70 minutes with their second penalty of the game after Gary Hamilton went down in the area with Neill stepping up to beat Matthews for his hat-trick.
