Coleraine grabbed the advantage after 14 minutes when Darren Boyce got away from Ruairi Boyle to meet a Michael Hegarty cross and knock the ball past 'keeper Gavin Cullen.

And the Bannsiders might have doubled their lead before the break when first Steven Lowry was denied by Cullen moments later while Richard Gibson struck an upright and fired another effort over.

But 'Stute levelled eight minutes into the second half through Joe McCready who unleashed a 25-yard curling drive beyond the despairing Davy O'Hare after being teed up by Kevin Ramsey.

Both sides had their chances to snatch the points towards the end.

Coleraine came closest via a long range Sammy Morrow free-kick which fell just the wrong side of the post while, for Institute, Paul Lowry sent a lob over O'Hare but could only look on helplessly as it drifted narrowly wide.
