Institute 1-0 Bangor
JJB Sports Premiership - Saturday, 1st November, 2008
INSTITUTE closed the gap on the top six to just two points thanks to Paul Brown's late winner at the Riverside.

The Seasiders came closest to breaking the first half deadlock with a superbly struck 30-yard free-kick which forced Michael Doherty into a full length diving save.

The 'keeper was also in action a little later when Mark Gracey and Marty Verner combined for the latter to send in a dangerous looking header.

For 'Stute Paul Brown looked the most likely to score when his 28th minute back post header from a Philip Lowry cross just missed the target.

John Gregg's side looked the more likely to find a way through after the break when first Declan Divin blazed the ball over while Lowry was unable to convert an effort from the edge of the area.

And Institute grabbed the winner with five minutes remaining when Brown turned the ball home at the back post from a John O'Loughlin corner which the Bangor defence failed to deal with.
